The difference you can taste
Most non-alcoholic wine is cooked.
Ours never is.
Heat destroys the compounds that give wine its aroma. So most brands boil off the alcohol, then add sugar and flavoring to hide what they lost. That is the sweetness you remember. We take the alcohol out at room temperature, so there is nothing to cover up.

What is Clinq Zero?
Clinq Zero makes non-alcoholic sparkling wine from California wine, with the alcohol filtered out at room temperature, so the wine is never heated and nothing is added back. The first, Clinq Zero Sparkling Blanc, is a California Pinot Grigio: two ingredients on the label, 10 calories and 0g sugar a glass, under 0.5% alcohol. Made in the USA.
Why was every other non-alcoholic wine I tried so sweet?
Heat. When the alcohol is boiled off, the flavor goes with it, and sugar or grape juice goes back in to fill the gap. Flip the bottle and count the ingredients. Ours has two.
How does the subscription work?

Is it non-alcoholic or zero alcohol?
It is non-alcoholic, under 0.5% alcohol by volume, the same range as kombucha and many orange juices. The accurate term on the bottle is dealcoholized sparkling wine.

What does it taste like?
Dry and mouthwatering, with fine bubbles and a long, clean finish. Grapefruit and white peach on the nose, citrus through the middle, nothing sweet at the end. It makes you want the next sip, which is the part most non-alcoholic wine misses. Pour it cold in the glass you already use. It stands on its own and it makes a proper mimosa.
